Whenafaithfulpolicedogandhishumanpoliceofficerownerareinjuredtogetheronthejob,aharebrainedbutlife-savingsurgeryfusesthetwoofthemtogetherandDogManisborn.DogManissworntoprotectandserve—andfetch,sitandrollover.AsDogManembraceshisnewidentityandstrivestoimpresshisChief(LilRelHowery,GetOut,FreeGuy),hemuststoptheprettyevilplotsoffelinesupervillainPeteytheCat(PeteDavidson;SaturdayNightLive,TheKingofStatenIsland).Petey’slatestplanistoclonehimself,creatingthekittenLilPetey,todoublehisabilitytodocrimestuff.Thingsgetcomplicated,though,whenLilPeteyforgesanunexpectedbondwithDogMan.WhenLilPeteyfallsintotheclutchesofacommonenemy,DogManandPeteyreluctantlyjoinforcesinanaction-packedraceagainsttimetorescuetheyoungkitten.Intheprocess,theydiscoverthepoweroffamily(andkittens!)tobringeventhemosthostilefoestogether.
